How is the batch-calibration data produced, when do I need a manual calibration?

The PhoxyPlates come batch-calibrated in colorless PBS buffers with 40 mM buffer capacity and with physiological osmolality at 37°C. We recommend a manual calibration if the intended ambient conditions such as temperature or ionic strength vary or if colored or special media are used, since these can have an impact on the shape of the respective calibration curves.

Besides calibration we strongly recommend performing an One Point Adjustment (OPA) prior to the experiment to account for condition, media or sample impacts on pre-calibration data.
